In the backyard of the Kunstmuseum a pergola leads to Brasserie Berlage. The restaurant, designed by architect H.P. Berlage, caused quite a stir during construction. An 'undesirable frivolity', according to the Municipal Supervisory Committee in 1927.
The detached pavilion is a National Monument and is hidden in the middle of the Kunstmuseum, Fotomuseum, One Planet, Omniversum and the World Forum. A place to just eat well with a unique terrace and a view of Berlages very best work.
The two striking chimneys close off the museum as the bow of a ship.
TUE - SUN
from 11 am
Berlage is known to connoisseurs as "The pearl in the cultural heart of The Hague".
Just like the Kunstmuseum, the Restaurant has striking yellow bricks. The bronze door is original. The light and spacious design allows you to dine in a calm and comfortable atmosphere. The décor is functional with marble tables and Thonet chairs. Close to the bronze windows are wooden tables with comfortable chairs.
It is possible to rent the conservatory exclusively and it has its own entrance and private terrace
